This year the “IBIS-IP Plug Fest” took place in Düsseldorf. The motivation of the IBIS-IP initiative is to standardize the IP communication for Public Transport vehicles. And therefore to provide an open architecture to Public Transport Authorities and Operators.

The communication is a standard IP based Ethernet, therefore the Ethernet Switch is a central junction point in the IP architecture. TRONTEQ participated with the ROQSTAR Managed PoE Switch, we were able to successfully test IP communication and Power over Ethernet (PoE) of our M12 Switch. Several established manufacturers of subsystems and components were also present at the event. The Switch was connected to different components such as central onboard computer unit, passenger counting system and -informatioin systems, ticket validators and cameras. The most of the components were also power supplied by our ROQSTAR PoE Switch. The IP address configuration was also performed by the DHCP server of the Switch.
